I got this pattern out of a magazine that my mom bought. It is a traditional quilt square in a huge format. Shoofly (also known as Monkey Wrench) is a traditional design from the Underground Railroad time period. Normally this square is made to be 12” by 12” while this one is MUCH bigger, 60” by 60”! The pattern is actually called the “autumn shoofly”, but since I fell in love with the “Fruit Cake” collection by Moda I used Christmas colors. This weekend my goal is to get the quilting done and the binding sewn on. Wish me luck!
