Batik Lovers Giveaway!

Contest Closed

I am please to announce the Lori S has won the batik bundle!

Thank you so much to everyone who entered, and especially thanks to Sew Sisters Quilt Shop who sponsored this giveaway!

I’m super excited to announce this first giveaway on my blog today! I was contacted last week by the ladies at Sew Sisters Quilt Shop to host a contest featuring batiks. Sew Sisters is a Canadian quilt shop dedicated to all things quilting. For the past decade they have offered Canadian quilters great quality fabric, notions, books, kits and patterns, both in their store in Toronto and online. At Sew Sisters they believe you should buy fabric, not postage! So they offer terrific shipping rates on orders within Canada. I ordered some goodies last week and they arrived today in less than 7 days!

Sew Sisters offers three great monthly fabric clubs including the Batik Lovers Club. The Batik Lover’s Club was started this year. Members get 4 half yards of batiks delivered to their door each month for only $25. It’s a great way for batik lovers to build their stash and it’s always exciting to receive a surprise package each month!

Batiks are great fabrics and come in an absolute rainbow of colors! They can be used for virtually every style of quilting. Typically we find them in traditional styles but they also work great in modern quilting because of the rich variety of colors! These are may last couple of quilts made with batiks.

I also made my lovley closeline tote out of a Mango Margarita Bali pop!

So here are the contest details! Sew Sisters is giving away these fantastic 4 half yards of batiks to one lucky winner who will be randomly selected from the comments left on this post!

  1. Jody Hogan says:

the 1st project I did using Batik fabric was a table runner, I’m new to quilting so I haven’t tackled a quilt yet, but would love to use Batik fabric when the time comes hopefully it will be by the end of the summer … perhaps a lap quilt would be a great 1st quilt project

  2. I love batiks…I have made many quilts using them! Thanks for generous giveaway!

  3. I’m a new follower!

    • June Williams says:

I love the Batiks. Just having a hard time deciding on a pattern. I want something that will really show their beautiful colors.

  4. Unfortunately, although I have a small collection of batiks, I have yet to use them. I am waiting for a quilt pattern to hit me in the face. It will be a quilt for “ME” and no one else. Right now I am finishing up a baby quilt for my new grandson and then there is a small wall hanging for my youngest daughter’s boyfriend who will be celebrating a birthday and then there is the quilt for my daughter, and then… You see? It will be one just for me. Thanks for the chance to win these gorgeous fabrics.

  5. Ailsa Johnson says:

I love using batiks in quilting!! I made a lovely batik quilt from a jelly roll in a quilt guild year-long project making blocks geared for jelly rolls. I’m in the process (supposed to be 8 months long but who knows how long it will take?) of doing a Stitchers’ Garden quilt with batiks – and I thnk it’s gorgeous NOW!!
